lyrics

I wish to write a song for the young, and tell them to listen and hold their tongue.
That there’re so many things for you to learn, before you know it you will have your turn.
I wish to write a song for the old, and tell them that their story will be told.
That there’re so many things left unsaid, and stories to put the little ones to bed.

Once you fade away you will only be the words you’ve chose and things you leave.

I wish to write a song for the earth, please take care of the children that you birth.
That there’re so many hearts that feel alone, and fathers and mothers who don’t share a home.
I wish to write a song for the One, who says that He is planning to come.
The One that will save us from all our doubt, the One in which all war is about.

Once you fade away you will only be the words you’ve chose and things you leave.

I wish to write a song for my love, and tell her she is all that I dream of.
That there’re so many reasons we should kiss, that she means much more to me than I admit.

Once I fade away I will only be the words I’ve chose and things I leave.
